Homoeopathic mode of action

Calcarea fluorica exerts a preventative mineral action on elasticity of body tissues helping avoid a tendency to develop cataracts. Euphrasia officinalis is indicated for ocular opacities associated with degeneration of eye tissue and sticky mucus of the eyes. Naphthalinum acts on soft cataract formation and corneal opacity. Phosphorous treats atrophy of the optic nerve, degenerative retinal changes, glaucoma and eye fatigue associated with cataract. Cataracta senilis has a specific homoeotherapeutic action to reduce the severity and progress of cataract formation. Senecio cineraria acts to clear or retard the progress of corneal opacities leading to cataract formation. Silicea acts to re-absorb scar tissue and relieves cataract, photophobia and opacity after keratitis. Zincum phosphoricum relieves optical blurring of the visual field.

Indications

This is a homoeopathic medicine which assists in the treatment of optical sensitivity to light, eyestrain, conjuctivitis, prediagnosed cataracts (lens opacity) and pterygium.

This medicine is an adjuvant for treatment of cataracts and pterygium and may be used to complement existing medication for the treatment of these conditions. To be sure that serious conditions do not persist undetected, please ensure that cataracts and pterygium are prediagnosed and monitored by a suitably qualified practitioner.

Contraindications

This medicine contains lactose and should be used with caution by individuals with lactose intolerance and severe diabetes.

Warnings

Please consult your practitioner if symptoms are severe or persist without improvement for longer than the following time limits: Conjuctivitis should improve within four days; sensitivity to light within seven days; eyestrain within six weeks and pterygium should improve within twelve weeks. Unless otherwise prescribed, do not exceed the stated dose. In the rare event of hypersensitivity to an ingredient in this medicine, discontinue use. Substitute existing medical treatment under professional supervision.

Dosage and directions for use

Dissolve two tablets in the mouth every second day for one month. Thereafter, take two tablets twice weekly for long term treatment. As absorption of homoeopathic medicines occurs mainly through the mucous membrane of the mouth, it is desirable to hold the medicine in the mouth for a short period and for the mouth to be free of any other tastes (toothpaste, peppermint, etc.) when taking the medicine. Avoid taking this medicine within half an hour of strong coffee, chocolate, camphor or aromatic substances which may reduce the efficacy of the homoeopathic components.
